Notify: Disable alert for files in use

Postby appsontap on Wed Jul 15, 2015 3:08 pm

Hi,

I am trying to configure alerts to NOT send an email for the following
32:The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.

is there some way this can be archived?

I have tested enabling alerts only after multiple runs, which did not work for me.

Any help would be much appreciated as we are thinking about moving away from this product if we can not get the alerts to work.

Thanks,
Paul

The option about re-runs refers to the following feature in the profile:
Access & Retries->Waiting and Retrying:
X Re-run profile if an error occurs while
X Running the profile

Then you can specify how often the profile should be re-run.

You can also increase the "Wait Up To" time on this tab sheet, which makes Syncovery wait longer for locked files to become available. You need the checkmark "Wait for File Access" too.

Please let me know if these settings help. They should at least reduce the alert frequency. If it's still not enough I will add better control on the alerts.

I have tested the re-runs using the settings you have mentioned before.
The problem is that some of these files are locked for hours, so even if I change to wait for longer it may reduce the alerts I am getting, it will still produce alerts which I don't care for (If a file is open it can not be synched, thats ok - I dont want an alert).

Also how would waiting affect other files which should be synchronized in the meantime (it is scheduled for real time sync)?

We have added an option
Ignore These Errors:
X Access Denied Reading Files

It should solve this issue.
