inclusion and exclusion masks

Hello everyone,
I am creating a backup profile for an RDP server, in order to only backup user profiles. I am only interested by backuping/recovering Microsoft Office files. So this is my question : if I put inclusions masks, must I put exclusion masks to avoid backuping other files than desired, or inclusion masks makes exclusion masks unnecessary ?

Just setting inclusion masks will be fine.
