Changing file names

Postby Swhedds01 on Mon Sep 07, 2015 9:39 am

Hi, I'm hoping to use Syncovery to automatically pull a nightly database backup file from our system hosts to local servers. I've worked out the SFTP process, but whilst doing that I'd like to rename the date and time stamped backup file so that each night our loading processes will be looking for the same specifically named file. Can Syncovery do this?

Thanks!

One way to achieve this would be to use the Zip Packages feature, where Syncovery would zip the files (multiple files into one zip archive). The Zip Package settings allow to use the same name always and not timestamp the file.

Another way would be with a batch file being exceuted at the end of the job, or a second job that renames the file by using an "External Copying Tool", which can be a batch file invoking an xcopy or ren command.

More details can be provided on request.
