Applying license code, unlocking V7

Hi,

I was looking for the procedure to apply the license key for the Linux version and therefore unlocking the trial runtime. I were not able to found this information so I had to manually add the following two lines to Syncovery.ini

Code: Select all

RegCodeV7='license code'
RegNameV7='license name'

Is there another way ? What is the value for the "Preferences=" setting ?

Now the software run showing that it is licensed but at the beginning, it stays ~5s displaying the following text before going on.

Hello,
that's correct, the license code needs to be added to the INI file in this manner.

The delay is not normal, maybe it's just a terminal window scrolling problem? Please try to clear the terminal before running Syncovery.

It could be related to the sockets and mutex files left over from a previous run. Please look at the temp folder (possibly /tmp) and delete any left over Syncovery files.

In addition, we now have the new version 7.38 for Linux on the download page. If you still have doubts about delays, you can run it with the /TGCP command line parameter. This will output checkpoints to the Terminal window, and then you can tell me at which checkpoint it pauses (or maybe it repeats a few checkpoints for a certain time).

Checking the registration code involves the AES encryption algorithm, maybe that causes it. I will check if it can be made more efficient.

Don't worry if the underlying AES encryption library doesn't let you make it faster.
