Authenticate to Google Drive?

Postby cateyed on Thu Mar 10, 2016 7:43 am

Hi guys,

I'm running a crappy SBS 2003 server at a clients office and the IE browser isn't working on it, so I couldn't use it to authenticate Syncovery to GD, or use the native GD client software either (it appears to use an IE window to authenticate as well).

I've installed Firefox and Chrome and it opens and runs the Google page for you to Allow and then I get this error:

HttpSendRequest Error 12157 Description An error occurred in the secure channel support

Any thoughts?

Thanks

In which Window do you get the error exactly? If in Syncovery, you could try switching the library 2 (OpenSSL) on the Internet dialog (where you chose the Google Drive storage).

Hi!

Thanks for the quick reply.

So I select Google Drive in Syncovery and click OK to save the profile. It pops up a little window saying "Reading folders", then "Waiting for authentication"

Chrome or Firefox then opens, with Google asking for permission for Syncovery to access my account. It has an "Allow" button, which I click.

The Chrome/Firefox window then displays an error. It is usually where it would tell you to return to the application?

With the change in protocol, I get a different error, I've attached an image of the error.

It does appear to have rectified the issue with Syncovery receiving the permission though.

Using the other protocol MS SSL, I would get to that second browser screen, and get that original message and Syncovery would never receive the authentication permission.

Thanks!

It seems to be a Firewall problem. Instead of the error, it should show that you have successfully authorized Syncovery. Maybe you can allow Syncovery to open a local web server on port 8889.

Does it work now or not?
