Amazon uploads getting renamed

Postby cuibel on Sat Jul 09, 2016 4:44 am

Uploaded files get renamed like this:
From: img_130101_060000.JPG
To: img_130101_060000-100.d20140809-u031141.JPG

what's going on?

This feature is called Filename Encoding, and it encodes the file's timestamp into the
filename. That way, the timestamps can be preserved on Amazon S3. Upon restore,
the original filenames and timestamps will be used.

When creating an Amazon S3 profile, Syncovery asks you if you want to use Filename
Encoding. Maybe you clicked Yes but then forgot about it.

You can turn the feature off under Versioning, or on the Internet dialog. However
without proper timestamps, you may see some synchronization problems and you
can't restore the files with their correct timestamps.

I recommend keeping the encoding unless you absolutely need to have the original
names on the cloud storage.
