Moving content between profiles results in re-uploading

Postby bitfidelity on Sat Apr 15, 2017 5:23 pm

I regularly move content between different drives and have found that Syncovery will upload this content again even though it is already somewhere in the cloud. Ideally, the program should just move the pre-existing files—is there a setting I am missing, or is Syncovery unable to do this?

Basically, I have a profile set up for each drive on my system: profile C contains my entire C drive. If I move a folder from drive C to drive D and then run Profile D, that folder gets uploaded again even though the contents are already in the cloud.

Syncovery treats each job / profile separately. When it syncs your D: drive, it does not look at any cloud content outside of the destination folder. So it cannot detect that move.

It's possible that a future version will allow you to set up a single profile for both C: and D:, and then it will be possible to detect such moves.
