Backups continue to grow larger than source

Postby ak_Brian on Tue Jun 27, 2017 5:21 pm

I think I'm just missing something or not understanding how this works, but my backup (right side) continues to grow larger than the source on the left side. I have it set up for exact mirror with deletion okayed on the right side but the volume continues to grow larger than the source.

How should I be configuring this, or is there an index or something generated that is the cause of the extra space?

It can be caused by versioning (keeping several versions per file), or if the deletions are not actually performed. You can see in the result summary whether deletions are really executed. It should say for example "100 copied, 25 deleted".

For more detailed results, please look at the log files. You can also send one to support@syncovery.com for interpretation.
