Using Sync and Deleting Items from IDISK

Postby danio on Sat May 29, 2010 5:16 am

I'm having a little trouble with using sync to iDisk.

Everything is absolutely file with the exception of deleting items that no longer should be on iDisk.

I have created a profile with access to iDisk using my own username and password for full access. The items in question should sync to the 'Public' section of the service. The profile is set to 'Exact Mirror'. I have changed the 'Deletion' section to not use Trash thinking this might be the issue, but, thats not helped. Files always create without trouble, they are never deleted.

The log file says -:

/Public/CCH/PPT Conversion/Current/IrisConversion_1.0.0.0.zip
* ERROR 5, Permission Denied

I wonder if anyone can help and suggest how a sync profile can be built to copy/remove items to iDisk successfully?

Hello,

are you accessing the iDisk via WebDAV or as a mounted volume?

Sorry with the delay in replying; via WEBDAV as I don't have the disc mounted locally

Currently there seems to be a compatibility problem with iDisk. The server replies with "Precondition Failed" when a file deletion request is sent. I will look into this and fix it in version 5. A first preview release should be available in 6-8 weeks.

Brilliant; thanks very much indeed. I can delete manually when it's the odd file but for larger numbers it would be more cumbersome.

Appreciate your help.
