Error: Cyclic Redundancy Check

Postby jbailey on Mon Jan 15, 2018 9:34 pm

Hi,

I'm getting repeated "cyclic redundancy check" errors and I'm not sure what this means or what to do about it. It apparently has been happening for the last month or more--I run on login in the background and didn't notice until I was checking something out today. When I ran it manually in the foreground today, I got the same error. Furthermore, tonight it said it was processing files for about a half hour, but then I noticed it was on file #4xx of 366 and had an ETA of 16+ days. When I stopped the process at that point, the log said it only copied a single file and gave the same cyclic redundancy check errors on nearly everything.

Thanks in advance,
Janelle

One of the hard drives is broken, or dying.
