syncing pc's that are behind NAT

Postby rvandervalk on Wed Sep 04, 2019 3:09 pm

I have two pc's each in a different location. Each is connected to the internet via an internet provider and each has a private, internal IP address (ie: 10.0.0.39) and a public, external IP address. Is there any documentation how to set up syncovery to sync these 2 pc's? Is anybody else doing this? I can't imagine that it's an unusual situation. I'm just confused about setting something like this up.

Sorry for the late reply. Ideally you would be able to set up a VPN between the two routers that provide the Internet connection. Most modern Cable / DSL routers should be able to provide VPN connectivity easily.

If this is not possible, you need to set up an FTP, WebDAV or SSH/SFTP server on one of the machines and forward the necessary ports through the router and possibly use a DynDNS service so you can connect from the other machine.
