Version 5.00 Released!

Postby superflexible on Mon Jul 05, 2010 6:37 am

Hello,

the new version has finally been officially released and is available on our download page.

The biggest new features include Synthetic Backup, support for Google Docs and Microsoft Azure Storage, a new database engine, as well as auto-detection of FTP server timezones. Many additional improvements and additions have been made. The version history on our web site will be completed soon.

The upgrade is free if you have a license for version 4 and it continues to use the same registration codes.

Cheers,

Tried V5 and could trying to execute a backup I keep on getting the following error:

Cannot open database.
Database might be in use by another profile
ISC ERROR CODE:335544382

ISC ERROR MESSAGE:
Invalid clumplet buffer structure: string length doesn't match with clumplet

Got in many profiles (not sure if all), once it happened nothing else would work, telling it clear the database did not help, deleting the database folder did not help, nothing would get it to work. Then even after rebooting no profile would work. Not in attended or unattended mode or background.

Re-installed 4.97 and all is fine again.

Hi

We are going to upgrade to superflexible V5 tomorrow.

We sometimes get messages from v4.75 even thou we are running V4.9.

For the V5 installation what are the step by step guides to the install.

Do we need to do anything different from previous installs.

Please can you confirm how we back up the profiles and system settings.

Thanks

You can just install it over like any previous update. Make a backup copy of the ini file first. Its location is shown on the status bar of the Profile Overview.

To avoid having to reboot, make sure in Task Manager that no Superflexible or ExtremeSync process is running and then download and install from our web site.

I have found a possible cause for the database problem. Version 5.02 will be published today and will most likely fix it.

I just started using 5.02 today because I needed to switch servers anyways. I was afraid it was going to look quite a bit different, but I'm quite at home here. Thanks!

One little pesky thing I have already noticed is right-clicking on a profile does not make that profile active. Meaning if I was viewing Profile A and I want to view the properties of Profile B, I need to left-click on that profile to select it before I can right-click on it. Ver 4 did not work like this. Just a bit confusing because it causes me to second guess which profile I am viewing.

Could also be because I haven't rebooted my server since the install. Thanks Tobias!

Hello,

thanks! Yes the right-click select was intentionally removed because of some problems with it. I hope I can reinstate it in an update.

Having to remember to do the left click before the right click is just counter-intuitive. I sure hope the standard right click behavior can be restored.

Thanks
