FTP Exception (5) error

Postby PederN on Fri Jul 23, 2010 12:39 pm

Hello!

I get an error after installing v5 and trying to run a profile. This is related to approx. 10% of the files in the folder on the left side. When I try to run this profile pointing to another FTP server there is no problems. Any idears?

:::
LEFT: D:\shares\Photos
RIGHT: ftp://80.72.xxx.yyy/PNBackup/Photos

Copying Direction : Left To Right
Exact Mirror Mode is being used.
The profile has been started manually in a separate process.

Left Side Volume Name: DATA

FTP Exception (5): ETGFTPError FTPPut: 553 sffs.tz.check.HPSTORAGE.11681.$$$: Permission denied. @ 00CEF7F1

Move Deleted Files Into Folder Setting is OFF.

Hello,

apparently you are not allowed to upload files to this server. Therefore you need to disable the automatic timezone check. This is on the second tab sheet of the Internet Protocol dialog.

Hello again

I tried to use the "admin" account for the FTP server - same result. If I disable the automatic timezone check the program copy all files every time - not just the changed ones.

Any other ideas?

PS
The FTP server is a Synology server with the latest firmware.

It would be great if you could get permissions to upload files to the root folder. For the auto-detection, the program uploads files named like sffs.tz.check.HPSTORAGE.11681.$$$. If that is denied, the timezone cannot be detected. But you can specify the offsets manually. Just look at the Sync Preview and try to figure out the necessary offsets.

You can also try unchecking the UTC checkmark. If you need an offset, probably only for the Listing, not for the setting of timestamps.

The new version 5.07 should fix the auto detection of FTP timezones for servers where you can't upload any files to the root or home folder. It will upload the test files to the base folder specified in the profile instead.

Hi

We're using 5.09 build 84 but we're still seeing the problem whereby a DELE is attempted in the root.

When I sniff the wire, I see ( after the login)

CWD out (the directory defined in the profile)
CWD /
DELE xxxxxxxxxx

So it looks like the CWD to flip to the profile directory is undone by one to the root.

Could someone have a look please. I'm getting complaints from the FTP site owner that we're trying to delete files from the root
