Old zip files are not getting deleted

Postby amit_vaij on Tue Jul 27, 2010 8:05 am

Hello,

Our client is using Extremesync for SQL log shipping. On the DR system, they have Extremesync Remote Service Control Panel 2.11 to extract the zip files which comes in "Incomming Extremesync Packages" from Production system.

From couple of days "extremesync Remote Service Control Panel" is not deleting the old zip files after extracting.

What could be the reason, why it is not deleting the old zip files?

Regards,
Amit

Maybe you need to restart the service.

Could also be a permissions issue. You can change the user account under which the service runs in Windows Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services.

You may want to update your Remote Service. The current control panel version is 5.11 and it is included with the current Super Flexible File Synchronizer version 5.06. The latest version of the service should not ever need to be restarted. Also if there is a problem unzipping, it will write a log file (if it has the permissions to write into the folder).

Hello,

Problem got resolved after moving the file which was giving the error "unable to unzip filename.zip". Now I can see the program is running very smoothly without any issue.

We want to suggest our client an upgrade to the newer version. If you can give us a detailed comparison chart, that will help in convincing them. One of the new features you told us that it has log file which helps in resolving issues, but need something more to convince them.

Hi,

the latest update is free for all licenses ordered since September 2007, so maybe we don't need to convince the customer? In any case you will find our version history here:
http://www.superflexible.com/history.htm

If you send me the customer details by email I can send you the upgrade offer (if any).
