Backup Strategy for SQL Database

Hi,
I am a fairly new user of SFFS and not able to work out all the features of this software.Here is my scenario that i need for backup.

Source Machine - SQL Server with 25 GB of database files (all *.bak)
Target Machine on a remote location - Win 2003 Server with Filezilla Installed (Used as FTP Server)

I need to backup/copy the SQL server folder (25GB) to target machine using full copy first and then partial/incremental copy.

1. Where should the SFSS ExtemeSync remote service be installed and should i check synthetic backup and partial file upate both ?
2. For remote checksummer to work should i specify the path of SQL folder (E:\Sql backup) on source machine

Please provide the steps required for SFFS configuration.Also,what would be right,left,local,remote locations.

Hello,

with FTP as a transfer protocol, the program has to store the daily changes in separate ZIP files that it uploads. Therefore, the ExtremeSync Remote Service is not needed on the server. You just set up a regular uploading profile and then go to Versioning->Synthetic Backup and choose the first checkmark.

If you can establish a VPN or SSH connection, then you can use Partial File Updating without separate files every day. Even then you don't need the ExtremeSync Remote Service but you can optionally use it. See also

No, it would be the local path on the destination machine.
