Cancel unattended job: file deleted

Postby M_Meyer on Tue Nov 02, 2010 6:28 am

I have a problem when cancelling an unattended job:
The current file copy is terminated and the file is deleted at the target afterwards.

I would have expected that after cancel, the old file stays at the target.

You can get the desired behavior by using "Automatically resume" on the Files tab sheet. That way, a temporary filename is used for copying.

I have tested this and unfortunately it does not work. The target file is still deleted.

It may depend on the exact situation and some other settings, as well as whether you use normal Windows copying, or FTP, WebDAV etc. Please tell us some more details.

I detected this while cancelling a bidirectional sync job of a 500MB file (with partial updating enabled).
So I tried to reproduce it on 2 folders of my local system.
They contain only one large 500MB file.
It happens with and without partial file updating.
It's a 1:1 standard sync job, no zip.

In 5.32, this error is still present :-(
When do you think it will be fixed?

It works fine here. I can cancel any job, and the original file stays at the destination, along with the .incomplete file. You need to make sure that Auto-Resume is chosen. If problems remain, please send a much more detailed description with screenshots etc. to support@superflexible.com. I need precise steps how to produce the issue.
