Range Check Error prevents profile from executing

Postby DominikHoffmann on Thu Feb 25, 2010 1:51 am

I have Super Flexible File Synchronizer 4.89. A few hours after most recently running a synchronization profile, I now get

Error building file list: ERangeError: Range Check Error, Checkpoints: FindThB3/ @000AC954
Error type: EPrepException

The progress dialog shows

Building File List
Path: /

Does anyone have any ideas about what's up here?

I just read something about 4.89 fixing Range Check Errors having to do with odd Unicode characters in file or directory names. I chose "Ꮱ Files Deleted During Synchronization" as the name of the directory in which to save files determined to have been deleted on one side.

That was the issue. After replacing the "Ꮱ" with "_" on both sides, the synchronization proceeded without problems.

Thanks! I will try this and make it compatible with such characters. Usually they can only cause a problem at the beginning or end of a file or folder name. But there are no known issues any more with such names in the folders and files being synced.
