Replication "open" mov files by Partial BackUp

Postby user on Tue Jul 03, 2012 12:20 am

Hi!
We have "ingest server" to record live video in .mov files. Mov files are growing:
server adds video-data into the end of the files and periodicaly rewrite the headers of the files.
Server shares these mov files over ethernet (smb, afp and ftp).
We can edit these growing mov files ("open" files) with NonLinearEditing Stations (MacPro Final Cut Pro 7)
over Ethernet.
I have tried to setup on-line replication of these "open" mov files to the second Storage by Syncovery (Win) Standart Copying by using Partial File Updating.
I can use the copy of "open" mov file for editing but should wait while Syncovery rewrite all video-data in mov file to edit last frames of mov file.
Can Syncovery rewrite only header of mov file and add latest data from original mov file to the end of replica of mov file on the second storage?

It can do this only if you install the "Syncovery Remote Service" on the server. This Remote Service will generate the necessary checksums to determine which blocks need to be downloaded.
