Schedule and email report questions

Postby rgs on Tue Sep 30, 2014 6:06 pm

I'm evaluating Syncovery for use in our maintenance work for clients. I really like what I've seen so far but there are a couple of issues.
We handle backups for several industrial sites and some of the backups are quite large. Our largest site has around 60 backups, which would require 60 profiles.

I currently run these consecutively from a script. The goal is to run them all at night when there is the least traffic on the network (the site runs 24/7 but is quieter at night), to run them one at a time to avoid overloading the network but to finish them as soon as possible.

Would it be possible to add a feature whereby I could schedule the first profile in a group, then have the rest run consecutively after that (or is there already a way to do this that I've missed)?

Also is there a way to have all the reports sent in a digest as soon as all backups in a group are finished? I like to get the report as soon as possible, but with so many backups which can all vary considerably in size there is no way to predict how long it will take, so scheduling the report for a specific time is problematic.

Yes, you can chain profiles using the Execute before/after option on the Job tab sheet in the profile. The instructions are on the dialog that will appear. In short, you would type
RUN PROFILE Second Profile Name

Concerning the digest sending, it's not currently possible in the way you requested. I will consider adding this feature in a future version.
