"Semaphore" Error Message

Postby mrgforce on Tue Jun 15, 2010 5:33 am

I back up several database files, located on a Windows 2003 server, to a usb external drive with NO problems using the background scheduler.

I then back up the backup to a harddrive located on a Windows 7 64-bit PC, located on our network. I mapped a drive letter to the Windows 7 drive. All rights are set up with full access.

ALL the files back up every night except for one (1). In the log file it says ..... "Semaphore timeout period has expired". HOWEVER, when I go back to the profiles and run the profile that has failed, it backs the file up with no problems.

I can't find any reference to .... "semaphore".

Does anyone know about this timeout period? Thanks.

Hello,

semaphore errors are network errors. I don't know exactly what causes them. It could be anything, such as a Windows bug or network wiring problem. Maybe if you type the exact error message into Google you will find something. Maybe there is a registry tweak that can fix it.
