Socket error 10014

Postby tkmuk on Thu Nov 18, 2010 1:17 pm

I have upgraded my version of File Syncronizer to 5.19a

Now my file sync jobs have stopped working. I have 2 and both fail with the error

Cannot access ftp://X.X.X.X/ftp

(Socket error 10014: The system has detected an invalid pointer address in attempting to use a pointer in a call. at 00B6F75A)

Can anyone help?

Hello,

please let us know which FTP library is chosen on the Internet/FTP dialog. Switching the library should help.

Hello

If i have looked at the option you are referring too, then it is set to 1 (default).

I have tried options 2 & 3 and get a different error (See the attached document Library2.doc)

I have also found that 1 of my profiles i have is actually running ok albeit for different folders in the specified ftp folder. I have tested this and can manually access this.

As I have previously mentioned, this worked ok until i updated the software.

Regards

It seems that the profiles have somehow become invalid when upgrading from version 4 to 5. I would make a duplicate of the working copy and edit it to do what you need. You can duplicate a profile by right-clicking it on the Profile Overview.

You could also compare every setting on the Internet/FTP dialogs. Something must be different. Maybe on the Proxy tab sheet?

Hello

It appears that the profiles now work but only if i run then them in background or they run on a scheduled basis.

If I try to run them by right clicking on them, then only the "Run in Background" option works.

I wonder if it isn't caused by some Firewall or Anti-Virus software.

Hi

I did think this and i have tried this already. The windows firewall is disabled and Mcafee is also disabled so this is no the case.

It is strange that it works in background only now.

I have another issue with deleted files not deleting but i will put that on a different ticket.
