Unable to connect with ftp (passive mode)

Postby Poums on Sat Dec 15, 2012 2:07 pm

Hi all,
My provider migrated his backup system and now passive mode is required to use the system.
I'm not able to connect it with SuperFlexe, even with "Passive mode" checked : the profile freezes while reading directories. I tried with each 3 libraries : the same problem occurs.
Under UNIX, all is right with then"ftp --passive" command line)

I need some help !
Thank you very much.

Additional information :
It's OK to connect to the backup system with filezilla (passive mode) from the same computer.
The problem seems to be from SuperFlexible...
Any ideas ?

Thank you for your help !
Denis.

Could be a Firewall or security software preventing the connection. You can also try the new version 6 named Syncovery.

I tried with the Firewall switch off, and there is no additional security software ; i tried the new version : Connexion is always blocked while "Reading folders".

Thank you.

Passive mode problems are usually routing issues on the server side. Usually even if the customer says it works with other programs, I can prove that there are problems there too.

The only way I could analyze this if you send a test login account to support@syncovery.com.

I sent you a password. Please alert me when tests are finished.
You only have read access outside the provider's network.

Thank you for your help,
Denis.

The problem was that the FTP server required a different IP address for the passive mode connections. So the next update will include a new checkmark "Respect passive mode IP address given by server".
