Unzip the archive and send the files inside the zip

Postby PCFAN2015 on Tue Jul 08, 2014 1:37 am

Hi,i have a profile making a backup from left to right and zipping the files in destination to this point i have no problems, the real problem is trying to do the same in reverse,i mean in a restore profile from right to left,i can't make the program unzip the archive and send the files inside the zip only (without coping the zip archive) to the destination folder,i hope you understand and can help me with this, thanks in advance!

You need to reverse the copying direction, i.e. copy from right to left. Then the zip files will be copied, unzipped, and deleted, so that only the files you want will remain.

You can also use the Restore Wizard.

Thanks for your help, but i think i don't explain myself right,my problem is with Zip Packages in the first job (Backup Profile) (from left to right) the 6600 files are copied then zipped in one big Zip Package that work perfectly, but in the other direction (Restore Profile) (from right to left) i choose the option in Zip/Encryption tab: Unzip all Zip files which are copied to the destination then when i execute the Restore Job the Zip Package first is copied to destination, then the 6600 files are unzipped, but the big Zip Package is not deleted automatically, that is the problem i am referring to,i hope that this time can you understand me and help me to solve this problem.

Syncovery does not have the feature you are asking for.

You could create a file such as clean.bat with this line:
DEL D:\TheFolder\*.zip

and type its full path and name in the "Executer after" field under Job->Execute before/after.

If you have other zip files, you may need to be more specific. Rather than deleting *.zip, you could delete Backup*.zip or whatever the name of the zip packages is.
