/Users/currentusername/ != ~/ on OS X

Postby surphaze on Tue Apr 27, 2010 3:21 am

Hi,

Does SFFS support the ~ character as a substitute for /Users/[name_of_current_user] on OS X?
Maybe it's something I'm doing wrong but when I use this expression, the sync profile just sais "waiting for availability".

As soon as I use /User/username/, they start to sync.

Is it my profiles or does SFFS not recognize "~" ?

Would be very useful if I'd get that to work. I could for example use one central ini file and set up standard scripts which I wouldn't have to modify for each user - just load them for every user and each one has the same backup and syncing setups.

Best,

Hello,

with our application, you need to use the variable $USERPROFILE which is the same as the ~ character in Unix.

In addition, you can use the %USER% variable to get just the user name.

So for example, a backup job might go from $USERPROFILE to /Backup/%USER%
