Hello,
there errors are not caused by incompatible names, but simply by too many uploads too quickly. You may want to set the number of files being copied in parallel to 1. This can be done on the Files tab sheet in the profile. Also make sure that only one profile/job runs at the same time.

If you do believe that some folders or file names are incompatible, please give me some examples. Also, you should see different errors (not only request_throttled).

Maybe there are other errors but they are not logged. To get more detailed logs, you can turn on "Internet Protocol Logging" on the Logs tab sheet of the Program Settings dialog. This will also give you IPLOG files. The paths to these files are listed in the main log file.

Hello,

Wow Awesome support!!! (and am awesome product).

> If you do believe that some folders or file names are incompatible, please give me some examples.

I only know of one example right now, which is ".picasa.ini".

I'm only running one copy of syncovery and I've disabled OneDrive sync.

I have a really good Internet connect (90Mb/sec up and down), so that is not a problem.

I swapped to files being copied in parallel to 1 (as you suggested) and dropped the speed limit to 1 MB/sec. However the file starting with "." (dot) completely stopped Syncovery for several minutes (so I cancelled). I then added an exception for ".*", which bypassed these files starting with "." (dot).

> Also, you should see different errors (not only request_throttled).

Even with one at a time and 1 MB/sec, I'm getting the following types of errors (the files are pictures):

I don't see any interesting errors in the IPLOG. If you tell me it does not contain sensitive data, I'll upload the logs to the forum. If the logs contains sensitive data, I am willing to email it to you (or whatever).

I've attached the normal log file. (I had not entered my license yet, but have a paid copy).

There were some errors in the end of copy cancel window which follow:

\2007\2007-02-24 Karen Party\DSC_0088.JPG (HTTP ERROR 420 ONEDRIVE UPLOAD: {
"ERROR": {

"MESSAGE": "THE REQUEST WASN'T MADE BECAUSE THE SAME TYPE OF REQUEST WAS REPEATED TOO MANY TIMES. WAIT 60 SECONDS AND TRY AGAIN."
}
} (6 ATTEMPTS UPL)

I then ran another test and here are the display errors:

Here is an example of the screen display errors:

Here is some more information, on the "." (dot) file problem.

On another computer, at another place, I installed the updated 6.67a, build 238.

I created one folder, with one test.txt file and one .syncovery-test.txt file (leading "." (dot).

The only xfer configured was the folder with 2 files.

The same problem occurred. I have some really good news. I have a great error message this time, from the log:

short version:
"message": "The operation couldn't be completed because the file name, '.syncovery-test.txt' isn't supported. A file name must not start or end with '.', and must not contain any of the following characters: '\\', '/', ':', ';', '*', '<', '>', '|', '?'."
}
}

I've attached the whole log.

So please consider the following suggestion.

1) Incompatible files will be named with a GUID, or Hash, or whatever.

2) In the meantime, incompatible files will be skipped and mentioned in the log file as incompatible with OneDrive

Thanks again for your great support!!! --todd

Hi,
great, I will improve this, and also look at your logs in more detail.

I won't be able to use a GUID very soon though because then Syncovery would not recognize the file and try to re-upload it every time you do a sync. But long term there will probably be a solution.

You can exclude these files with the exclusion mask

Hello,

You wrote> > Also, you should see different errors (not only request_throttled).

These are the only errors. As I understand this is normal because I've exceeded the OneDrive limits. Here is the short version of the Microsoft OneDrive limit information:

"We throttle per application, per user. We're not in the habit of publishing our specific limits, as we reserve the right to change them at any time, but we believe they represent a reasonable use of our service."

The above is quoted from the following web page:
http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums ... gerconnect

So the following change to Syncovery would be extremely helpful.

When OneDrive sends an error message to Syncovery and states something like the following:
" "CODE": "REQUEST_THROTTLED",
"MESSAGE": "THE REQUEST WASN'T MADE BECAUSE THE SAME TYPE OF REQUEST WAS REPEATED TOO MANY TIMES. WAIT 3 SECONDS AND TRY AGAIN."

Syncovery should wait 4 seconds and then try again. If Syncovery does not do this, the OneDrive waiting time quickly increases and the file xfer will never succeed. IThen the whole file transfer will hang.

Thanks for the great support!!! --todd

Hello,

I've ran into the OneDrive upload limit. So as a test, I would like to use a 2nd OneDrive account. However, when I try to create a 2nd profile, with my 2nd OneDrive account, Syncovery keeps using the 1st original OneDrive account. So it appears impossible to have a 2nd profile, using a 2nd OneDrive account. I tried changing the master Syncover ini file but the problem remained. I quit and restarted Syncovery but the problem remained. I tried the beta 7 but the problem remained.

Thanks for your help!!! --todd

You need to specify an account name on the Internet dialog. Syncovery will store separate access tokens for each account name. The account name is something random that you can type.

Hello and thanks but ...

you wrote> You need to specify an account name on the Internet dialog.

I tried that, for OneDrive, and I still can't get a 2nd account working. However, it is not a big issue for me right now. So just assume that it is my bad (my mistake) for now and you don't need to take any action.

When you specify a different account name, Syncovery should start the authentication process again when you start the job or click the Browse button. This means that a browser window will appear, where the first thing you need to do is click "Not me" or similar so that you can then log in with the second account.

You can also make Syncovery forget the account access tokens so that all accounts will re-authenticate with a browser window. To do that, click "Forget cloud access tokens" on the Program Settings dialog, tab sheet Advanced.
